Cassidy Clarke

Research Assistant

Cassidy Clarke’s research explores Eatonville, Florida, one of the first incorporated Black municipalities in the United States. Through literary analysis of Zora Neale Hurston’s work alongside archival documents and oral histories, the project examines Eatonville as a landmark of Black civic leadership and cultural autonomy. The research will contribute to a location-based OTOWN installation preserving the town’s history.

Cassidy is a second-year Music major from West Palm Beach, Florida. Her research centers on Eatonville and its historical contributions to America’s democratic lineage. She hopes to continue studying and establish a career in the music and entertainment industry. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, drawing, playlist making, and visiting new restaurants around town.
